“My practice relates to my experiences of walking. I go on many walks to gather inspiration from the landscape, architecture, and murals. As an artist, I notice various rhythms in pace as my body weaves through crowds in public. Although these moments are brief, I begin to imagine intersections between myself and other people. The painting I’m presenting in the show is a fragment of a mind map. My finger is linking to an eye with dotted lines as an attempt to reach each other. There are other eyes watching within the composition, which I see as a metaphor for life as well as surveillance. We live in a time full of instant information and misinformation, and as a woman artist, I desire to reach true connections.”
